Musikfest, held Aug. 2-11 in Bethlehem, may dominate regional entertainment over the next two weeks, though area venues will offer plenty of other diversions, music or otherwise.

• Serene Green, 8 p.m. Friday. The traditional bluegrass band, hailing from northeastern Pennsylvania, features Quentin Fisher, Michael Johnson, Steve Leonard, Katelynn Casper and Sam Zolla. Formed in 2017, Serene Green’s discography consists of the albums “To Whom It Pertains,” “Have At It” and “If It Wasn’t For Longing.”

• Laurel Canyon Band, 8 p.m. Aug. 10. The act performs an acoustic tribute to folk-rock band Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, plus said group’s individual members.

• Andrea Wolper, 7 p.m. Friday. A native California, the vocalist, composer, arranger and improviser released her fourth album as a leader, “Wanderlust,” in April. Residing in New York City, Wolper also serves as a side-person for other jazz artists. Steve Sandberg and Ken Filiano will join Wolper for her Vic‘s debut.

• Isaac Felix Quartet, 7 p.m. Aug. 9. The act features Felix, a guitarist hailing from Caguas, Puerto Rico, plus saxophonist Nate Tota, bassist Nick Krolak and drummer Koleby Royston.

• “Squad Deep,” Friday and Saturday. Andre Gower and Ryan Lambert, who played Sean and Rudy, respectively, in 1987’s “The Monster Squad,” will host a weekend of kid-squad films. The event will include screenings of 1985’s “The Goonies,” “The Monster Squad” and 2017’s “It,” plus a DJ, themed food and raffles. Gates open at 6 p.m.; showtime at sundown.

• “The Great Gilbert Gottfried Tribute Show,” Sunday. The theater will screen the 1990 comedy “Problem Child,” and director Kevin Dougherty’s new documentary “Drew Friedman: Vermeer of the Borscht Belt.” Both films feature comedian/actor Gottfried, who passed away in 2022. Dougherty will attend. Gates open at 6 p.m.; showtime at sundown.

• “The Crow,” Aug. 11. The theater will host a 30th anniversary screening of goth-superhero film “The Crow,” which starred Brandon Lee in his final role. The event will also include a punk-rock flea market and an appearance by actress Rochelle Davis, who played young Sarah in the film. Alex Proyas directed “The Crow,” based on the comic by James O’Barr. Gates open at 5 p.m. for the market, with a live DJ set until show time at sundown.

• Pickle Weekend, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 10 and 11. The Aug. 10 attractions include a pickle making contest, live music and an open pickle ball court located next to the Big White Tent. The Aug. 11 festivities include a pickle juice drinking contest and a pickle ball tournament. The two-day event also includes a petting zoo, dog park, carnival rides and pony carts.

• Classic Rock Night: Burning Sky and Talk of the Town, 8 p.m. Aug. 9. Burning Sky performs the music of Bad Company, taking inspiration for its name from the band’s 1977 album and song “Burnin’ Sky.” Talk of the Town pays tribute to The Pretenders, takings its name from the group’s same-titled 1980 single.

• Gin Blossoms and Toad the Wet Sprocket with Vertical Horizon, 7 p.m. Aug. 15. The alternative rock bands, all formed between 1986 and 1991, have each released six or seven studio albums. Gin Blossoms’ 1990s-era hits include “Hey Jealousy,” “Found Out About You” and “Follow You Down.” Toad the Wet Sprocket scored hits such as “All I Want,” “Walk on the Ocean” and “Fall Down.” Vertical Horizon’s hit singles include “Everything You Want,” “You’re a God” and “Best I Ever Had (Grey Sky Morning).”

• Slaughter Beach, Dog, 8 p.m. Aug. 15. Hailing from Philadelphia, the indie-rock band features Jake Ewald, formerly of emo band Modern Baseball. Formed in 2014, the group’s discography includes albums such as 2017’s “Birdie,” 2019’s “Safe and Also No Fear” and 2023’s “Crying, Laughing, Waving, Smiling.”

• Black Flag, 8 p.m. Saturday. Formed in 1976 in Hermosa Beach, California, the hard core punk band has released seven studio albums to date. Black Flag, which features sole continuous member Greg Ginn, has released all its material on Ginn’s independent label, SST Records. The group’s most recent studio effort, 2013’s “What The …,” marked 28 years since Black Flag’s sixth album, 1985’s “My War.”

• “In the Heights,” 8 p.m. Aug. 9 and 10, and 2 p.m. Aug. 11. The 2005 musical, which made its Broadway debut in 2008, depicts people struggling to make a living in the working-class, Dominican neighborhood of New York City’s Washington Heights. “In the Heights,” which won multiple Tony Awards, features music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda, and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes. Jon M. Chu directed a 2021 film adaptation.

• “Without Arrows,” 7 p.m. Friday. Paza: Tree of Life will present the screening of the film, which chronicles three generations of a Lakota family. A Q&A session with the filmmakers and stars will follow the screening, which serves as a kickoff to Sunday’s Unity Pow Wow Music Festival held in Portland.

• Documentary Film Series: “Matisse from Tate Modern and MoMA,” 7 p.m. Aug. 6. The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) and Tate Modern’s exhibit “The Cut-Outs” explores the final chapter of Henri Matisse’s career when he began “carving into color,” creating his signature cutouts. The behind-the-scenes documentary includes contributions from curators, historians and those who knew Matisse personally.

• “Legally Blonde: The Musical Jr.,” Aug. 9 and 10. The show, based on the 2007 Broadway musical and the 2001 hit film, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes, snobbery and scandal in pursuit of her dreams.

• The British Invasion Years: A ’60s Musical Revolution, 8 p.m. Saturday, Event Center. The show, spanning the first wave of the British Invasion era, starts with hits by British groups such as The Zombies, Dave Clark Five, The Rolling Stones and The Who. The second act features hits by American artists such as The Monkees, The Beach Boys, Neil Diamond and The Turtles. The journey through the 1960s concludes with Beatles music.

Upcoming Deck Party shows at Penn’s Peak, which start at 6:30 p.m., include Big Bone Daddy on Aug. 9.
