State police at Frackville report on incidents

State police at the Frackville barracks reported the following incidents:

• A 9-year-old boy from Minersville was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville, after being stabbed in the upper right abdomen by a girl in an incident that occurred at 6:46 a.m. July 16 at a home on Lewis Street in Minersville.

Police said they were dispatched to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and upon arrival determined two juveniles were involved.

They said a boy obtained a small metal knife and charged toward a girl, who deflected the knife, which then punctured the boy.

Police said the case has been closed because of lack of cooperation in prosecution.

• Police responded to a reported domestic altercation in the 300 block of Ridge Terrace, Coaldale, at 3:29 p.m. July 20, but said they determined the report was false and the incident did not occur.

As a result, Randall Walters, 45, of Coaldale, was cited for providing false reports to law enforcement.

• Police said they were called at 3 a.m. July 21 to Water Street in New Philadelphia, where a 63-year-old borough woman reported that a red Honda pickup truck was stolen from outside her residence during the early morning hours.

It was determined by police through the National Crime Information Center database that the vehicle was parked unattended in the 1400 block of South 32nd Street, Philadelphia.

• A 65-year-old New Ringgold woman told police that between June 1 and 11:48 a.m. June 3, someone charged $125.29 on her credit card for a subscription she did not authorize, police said.

• Police were called at 1:50 p.m. July 21 to South Lime Street in West Mahanoy Township to investigate a theft.

A 52-year-old Frackville man told police that someone took 100 $20 bills from the glovebox of his unlocked 2023 GMC Acadia and then fled the scene.
