Turnpike crashes

State police at the Pocono barracks reported the following crashes that occurred on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike:

• Alexandria H. Sitkowski, 26, of Wyoming, Pennsylvania, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 7:42 p.m. July 4 at mile marker 78.6 in Franklin Township.

Police said she was driving a 2007 Buick Lacrosse southbound when she lost control of the vehicle after coming upon the rain/water covered roadway. After she applied the brakes, the vehicle hit he concrete barrier. The car was towed from the scene.

Police said Sitkowski declined medical treatment at the scene.

• Police said a vehicle struck a call box gate at mile marker 86.5 in Penn Forest Township at 3:23 p.m. July 4.

They said the operator of the unknown vehicle attempted to back south and lost control of the vehicle, which struck the gate. The vehicle then left the scene.

• No one was hurt in a one-vehicle crash at 12:06 p.m. July 14 at mile marker 81.8 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said Cebastian J. Murray, 26, of Hanover Township, was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Cruze and lost control of the car on the wet roadway. The car traveled across the left lane and hit the concrete median.

• Police said a vehicle sideswiped a 2023 Freightliner Cascadia at 3:08 a.m. July 12 at mile marked 74.5 in Franklin Township.

They said the vehicle was in the left lane when it traveled into the right lane and hit the rig, operated by Anthony E. Harris, 55, of Houston, Texas, and then fled the scene.

• A 2016 Honda Civic sustained heavy damages when it was hit by debris that fell from a vehicle in front of it at 4:10 p.m. June 30 at mile marker 81.9 in Penn Forest Township.

Police said Josephine M. Flynn, 22, of Montrose, was driving the car at the time. She was uninjured but the Civic had to be towed from the scene, police said.

The vehicle whose debris struck the Civic failed to stop and fled the scene, police said.

• Jose A. Lugo, 27, of Mount Ephraim, New Jersey, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 2:55 p.m. June 30 at mile marker 78.8 in Franklin Township.

Police said he was driving a 2020 Toyota Camry southbound when he lost control of it and it hit the concrete barrier on the left side of the road and a guide rail on the right of the road.

The car was towed from the scene, police said.
