The Towamensing 11-12 All-Stars picked up victories in the Panther Valley Little League Tournament on Friday and Sunday.

Towamensing posted a 5-3 win over the Tamaqua 12s on Sunday.

Luke Machalik tripled with a pair of RBIs, while Case Serfass smacked a home run and Brody Mertz hit a double and drove in a run.

Serfass started an tossed four-and-a-third innings, striking out 11 while surrendering just three hits. Machalik tossed an inning-and-a-third in relief to close it out, striking out three.

Tevin Makoven tripled for Tamaqua with two RBIs. Jaxson Faneck and Joey Vidzicki also had hits for Tamaqua.

A big day at the plate from Cade Serfass helped Towamensing roll to a 9-1 victory over the Jim Thorpe 11-12 All-Stars on Friday.

Serfass hit a home run and had a double while knocking in three runs. Nicholas Zulic doubled and drove in two runs, while Zack Zelinsky had a pair of hits.

Charlie Borger had a pair of hits and scored twice. Zulic earned the win on the mound, tossing four-and-a-third innings with three strikeouts while allowing four hits.

Zelinsky finished it off with an inning-and-two-thirds in relief without allowing a hit and striking out two.

Parker Grant, (RBI), Jason N. (double), Daniel Off and Jionni O. had hits for Jim Thorpe.

8-10 TOURNAMENT

Newtown erupted in the third inning en route to an 11-1 win over Tamaqua on Saturday.

Trailing 1-0, Newtown erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the third inning to take control before finishing the win with four more runs in the fourth. Arin Shah was 3-for-3 with a double, RBI and two runs scored. Owen S. (two RBIs), Gavin Z. (RBI, run scored) and Michael I. (run scored) each had two hits, while Todd W. tripled scored twice and had two RBIs.

Abram Graver had a pair of hits and scored a run for Tamaqua. Aidan Sabol and Finnegan Davis also had hits for Tamaqua.
