Senior Center
The Panther Valley Senior Center announced the menu for July 8-12.
Monday: Corn Chowder, BBQ Chicken, Succotash, Orange or Beef Club Sandwich
Tuesday: Cheeseburger, Diced Potatoes, Broccoli Slaw, Cantaloupe or Ham and Cheese Sandwich
Wednesday: Western Omelette, Sausage, Potatoes, Biscuit, Fruit Salad or Chicken Caesar Salad
Thursday: Stuffed Cabbage, Mashed Potatoes, Diced Beets, Yogurt or Chicken and Cheese Sandwich
Friday: Chicken Parmesan, Pasta, Vegetable Blend, Salad, Pound Cake or Salad with Chicken
The senior center also announced the following events.
Sunshine Meeting on July 8 at 10 a.m. followed by Scattergories at 11 a.m.; Heritage Hill will be here doing Bingo on July 9 at 11 a.m.; Po-Keeno on July 10 at 11 a.m.; Bingo on July 11 at 10:45 a.m.; Skeeball on July 12 at 11 a.m.
Cards, Pool, Games, available daily from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. New members are welcome.

Panther Valley library
The Panther Valley Public Library will hold its summer reading program July 10, 17, 24 and 31 for children ages 3 to 5 and July 12, 19, 26 and Aug. 2 for children ages 6 to 9.
This year’s theme is “Adventure Begins at Your Library.”
For more information or to sign up your child, call the library at 570-645-3780 or email pvplib@ptd.net. Information that is needed includes the child’s name, age and parent’s phone number.
Library hours are from 9 a.m. to noon Monday, Wednesday and Friday and from 5-7 p.m. Thursdays.
The Panther Valley Public Library is located at 117 E. Bertsch St., Lansford.
Go Joe fundraiser
Members of Nesquehoning organizations are holding a bake sale outside the borough office, 114 W. Catawissa St., from 9 a.m. to noon on July 19, as a way to raise money for the donation the borough will present Joe Snedeker during his Go Joe 27 stop in Nesquehoning on July 24. All money raised benefits the St. Joseph’s Center.
