The Carbon County Area Vocational-Technical School Operating Committee moved its part-time librarian to a full-time position during its monthly meeting last night.

Barbara Adams of Tamaqua, who last year became the first librarian in the school’s history, was approved 4-0 to take over the post on a full-time basis.

Lyle Augustine Jr., the school’s acting director, praised Adams’ performance, saying she did “an excellent job,” and therefore no candidates were interviewed once she announced her intent to seek the job on a full-time basis.

She will receive an annual salary of $29,784.
