Police are investigating a burglary by residential force at 9 p.m. May 23 at a property on Shafer Road, Chestnuthill Township. The victim is a 43-year-old woman from Brodheadsville.

State police at Fern Ridge said the security system at the residence shows a black male, about 20-30 years of age, standing about 5-10 and having an athletic build, attempting to break into the home through a rear entry.

The suspect, who was wearing all black, with a black ski mask, was observed unsuccessfully using a tool to open a screen door.

Another camera shows the man entering an unsecured window of the home and a third camera shows him walking in the upstairs stairwell, pulling the camera off the wall.

Police said he fled the scene.
