The 43rd annual Lehighton Area Halloween Parade will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. The rain date is 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20.

Julie Harris, chairperson of the Lehighton Area Halloween Committee, said the deadline for registration is Friday, Oct. 11.Registration and division assignments will be held at 9th and Coal streets starting at noon.Paraders are reminded they are permitted to toss candy and gum to the viewers, but cannot stop and perform in front of the judges' stand.No ATVs are permitted.Harris said, "As in the past, we will continue to keep the parade a community affair, filled with fun."She added, "The parade has been increasing in size throughout the years, and therefore, our expenses have grown."This year, the committee is looking for band sponsors.The parade is run totally on donations.To contribute, send donations to:Lehighton Area Halloween Parade CommitteeP.O.
