Carbon County has reached an agreement with another of its unions.
On Thursday, the commissioners approved a collective bargaining agreement with AFSCME District Council 87, AFL-CIO, Local 2483 for the period of Jan. 1, 2024 through Dec. 31, 2026. The union represents employees in various clerical positions, 911, cleaning personnel and maintenance employees.
Under the terms of the agreement, the employees will receive raises in the amounts of 4% for 2024; and 3% in 2025 and 2026.
It will also include an additional $1 per hour for 911 operators and senior dispatchers when they are training new hired dispatchers.
It will also modify employee contributions for health care insurance.
Commissioners’ Chairman Michael Sofranko thanked everyone involved for sitting down and bringing an agreement that is beneficial to everyone.
