State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported the following accidents:
• Rhonda Silfee, 59, of Stroudsburg, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 2:45 p.m. May 5 on Route 534 in Polk Township.
Police said she was driving a 2008 Suzuki SX4 northbound and was negotiating a right curve in the roadway when she lost control of the vehicle. It traveled off the roadway and rolled over onto its roof. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• The driver of a 2006 Ford Ranger that crashed at 6:05 p.m. May 18 on Interchange Road in Polk Township escaped injuries.
Police said he was southbound when the vehicle struck a puddle of water and traveled off the right side of the road before striking a tree.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• Two people were injured in a crash at 3:31 p.m. May 19 at the intersection of Interchange and Harrity roads in Franklin Township.
Police said Kaleb M. Crostley, 19, of Lehighton, had minor injuries and was not transported to a medical facility.
Gary L. Reed, 42, also of Lehighton, was transported by personnel from the Lehighton Ambulance Association to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township. They said the severity of his injuries is unknown.
Police said the crash occurred when Crostley, driving a 2011 Chevrolet Traverse south on Interchange Road, failed to stop for a red light and struck head-on a 2023 Hyundai Elantra driven by Reed. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene.
Police said Crostley was cited for the crash.
• Police said two vehicles had minor damages in a crash at 4:49 p.m. May 19 on Forge Street (McCall Bridge) in Weissport.
They said a 2009 Nissan Altima “rear-ended” a 2016 Honda HRV as the latter vehicle came to a stop due to traffic.
