Church flea market

Our Lady Queen of Peace is accepting donations for its upcoming flea market.

To donate, drop off items Friday, from noon to 6 p.m.; Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Monday, from 1:30 to 6 p.m. and Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Firemen’s Festival

The West End Firemen’s Festival will be held May 30-June 1at the West End Fairgrounds.

It offers a Tricky Tray, rides, entertainment, food and more. There will also be fireworks on June 1.

All proceeds will benefit the four fire companies that serve the West End: Polk Township, West End, Blue Ridge Hook and Ladder, and Kunkletown.

It is set to begin at 5:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday and at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The fireworks on Saturday are to begin at 9:30 p.m.

PVP schedule

The schedule at Pleasant Valley Presbyterian Church, Brodheadsville, includes:

• Ladies Bible Study: Wednesdays at 10 a.m.

• Men’s Bible Study: Saturdays at 9:30 a.m.

• Sunday worship at 10 a.m.

Corpus Christi

The Spanish community meeting at Our Lady Queen of Peace church is preparing for a Corpus Christi Procession after the 1 p.m. Spanish Mass on Sunday.

All are invited.

That heritage-based group is still seeking a part-time bilingual secretary.

Computer knowledge and ability to read, write, and speak fluently in both English and Spanish is a must.

Bingo at Legion

An open to community Bingo night is being held at American Legion, Post 927, Gilbert, Monday beginning with card sales at 6:30 p.m. and playing at 7 p.m.

Display ending

The works of Tricia Lowrey Lippert, Joni Oye Benintende, Peter Salmon and Marilyn Pastor Abdalla will be on display in the Gallery at Kettle Creek through Friday.

The show, Artists in Nature, includes a variety of art mediums, including clay, oil painting and watercolors for a unique nature-themed show.

The gallery is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Needler meetings

The Prayer Shawl group at Effort UMC will be meeting Tuesday, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Zion Lutheran in Brodheadsville will hold its next Knit & Crochet gathering next Tuesday, beginning at 1 p.m.

Breakfast held

McMichaels UMC serves a donation-only breakfast every second Saturday of the month from 8 to 10:30 a.m.

A complete breakfast is served including beverages. Music is provided and led by a band by Dennis Maida. Everyone is welcome.

Take out is available.

Salem-St. Paul’s Sunday’s Family and Youth event is now happening June 9.

QV summer camp

Registration for Quiet Valley’s summer camp is now open. Living History Camp will be held June 24 to 28.

Farm Explorers will run from July 8 to July 12.

Nature Explorers Camp will be held July 15 through July.
