Lehighton man sentenced on meth trafficking charges

The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced that Curtis Margle, 34, of Lehighton, was sentenced on Tuesday by U.S. District Court Judge Robert D. Mariani, to 132 months’ imprisonment on the charge of possession with intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine.

According to United States Attorney Gerard M. Karam, Margle pleaded guilty and admitted to possessing between 200 grams and 350 grams of high-quality crystal methamphetamine for distribution in the Schuylkill County and Carbon County areas in 2022.

The charges stem from an investigation in which investigators made a purchase of crystal methamphetamine from Margle in March 2022 in Schuylkill County and later seized an additional quantity of crystal methamphetamine from Margle.

The charges against Margle resulted from an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Schuylkill County Drug Task Force. Assistant United States Attorney Robert J. O’Hara is prosecuted the case.

This case is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, a program bringing together all levels of law enforcement and the communities they serve to reduce violent crime and gun violence, and to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.
