Lansford Alive schedules summer Music in the Park series

Lansford Alive will be present Music in the Park again this summer with musical performances planned each Sunday night.

The performances, which continue through September, start off with Dave Matsinko with traditional folk and American heritage selections on June 2.

The concert series is held each Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the gazebo in Kennedy Park along Route 209 in Lansford, next to the Panther Valley Football Stadium.

Other performers in June include Fred Douglas with soul/R&B on June 9; Lyle Mantz with acoustic folk, June 16; Boys Upstairs, an acoustic party bank, June 23; and Rehrig Brothers, classic country.

Coming up in July are Angela Nardini, Motown, soul, oldies, jazz and pop, on July 7; Pat McGeehan, bluegrass/folk, July 14; Swingmasters, polkas, July 21; The Fat Cats, acoustic and classic rock, July 28.

Scheduled in August are Sean McGeehan, high energy acoustic, Aug. 4; Claire and Shane, bluegrass/folk, Aug. 11; Joe Krushinsky, covering Elvis classics, Aug. 18; Dave and Brenda Rehrig Duo, country, Aug. 22.

Autumn Falls with music through the decades will perform Sept. 1, and an artist will be announced for Sept. 8, when the music begins an hour earlier at 5 p.m., instead of 6 p.m.

Performances have not been announced for Sept. 15, 22, or 29, and are being held in reserve for rained out events.

Admission is free and refreshments will be sold to benefit local nonprofits. Community Bank is the principal sponsor.
