State Police at Schuylkill Haven
State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks reported the following incidents:
• Police are investigating a terroristic threats incident with an 18-year-old male student at the Tri-Valley High School, Hegins Township, involved.
They said they were called to the school on May 3 when an administrator related he received an anonymous tip saying a student posted a Tik-Tok video threatening another student.
• A 42-year-old New Philadelphia man is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and a controlled substance after a traffic stop police made at 2:08 a.m. May 3 on Eagan Street in Pottsville. Police said he was stopped in a 2017 Chevrolet Impala. They said he showed signs of impairment and admitted to the use of illicit drugs.
• A 39-year-old man from Orwigsburg who was a vendor at Reninger’s Market, North Manheim Township, on April 27 reported several tools and household repair items were stolen from his stand.
Taken were a cordless staple gun, chain saw chains, a wrench, pruners, toilet repair kits, a liquid soap dispenser and a flex drill. Police said suspects of the theft have been identified.
State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks reported the following incidents:
• Batiste Barbedette, 20, of Cumbola, is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop police made at 12:38 a.m. April 26.
He was stopped in a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee in the 300 block of Mill Creek Avenue in East Norwegian Township after which time police said he displayed signs of impairment.
• A 70-year-old Pottsville man was lodged in the Schuylkill County Prison, Pottsville, following his arraignment on charges he violated a Protection From Abuse order against him.
Police were called at 11:54 p.m. May 4 to a property on Main Street, Branch Township. They identified the victims as a 59-year-old woman and an 11-year-old girl, both from Pottsville.
Police said in addition to violating the PFA order, the man assaulted the girl.
