Robert E. Ames of 127 Second St., Coaldale, has been approved by a vote of 49-0 by the state Senate as a member of the Board of Trustees of the Coaldale State General Hospital.
Ames’ appointment was proposed by the board when Michael Butcher, appointed to the board in 1977, resigned over a dispute regarding conflict of interest since he is employed by the hospital.
Ames’ term will run to 1983. He is a member of the Coaldale Borough Council, is active in the Schuylkill County Republican Party, and is a teacher in the Tamaqua Area School District.
