Former St. Clair Borough Council president and current co-chairman of the Schuylkill County Bicentennial Steering Committee, Mike McCord, is running for re-election to his second term in office as Schuylkill County Register of Wills.
"It has been my honor to serve the people of Schuylkill County as their Register of Wills for the past 39 months," he stated. McCord, who has been named to the Executive Committee of the Register of Wills and Orphans' Court Association of Pennsylvania, also served as this year's NRA Banquet Committee chairperson.McCord listed a few of the accomplishments he has implemented in his office:Streamlined docketing procedures by eliminating unnecessary duplication of effort;Worked closely with MIS (Management Information Systems) to improve computer record management and to reduce material costs;Worked with fellow Row Officers, Peter Symons and Steve Lukach, in conjunction with MIS Department Head, Ed Ryan, to develop new scanning and image processing software, thereby eliminating more than $6000 annually in software licensing fees and by making those new tools more widely available to other offices in the Courthouse."Because of the hard work and dedication of my staff, I am proud to say that the Schuylkill County Register of Wills Office is known throughout the state for its courteous and professional service. If the people of Schuylkill County deem me worthy of a second term as Register of Wills, I will continue to not only improve information management systems through the use of advanced computer technology but also control costs by using time-tested management techniques."McCord lives in his hometown of St. Clair with his wife, Bernadette, and his two children, Patrick, 10, and Alison, 7, and their dog, Donut
