Lansford man faces indecent assault charge

A Lansford man faces indecent assault and other charges after an incident in the borough on Sunday night.

Edward Leymeister, 44, was arraigned Monday on charges of indecent assault, simple assault and harassment and jailed in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in Nesquehoning in lieu of $5,000 bail.

According to court papers, a woman told state police that she asked Leymeister to leave her home, because she felt unsafe with him there. Leymeister reportedly “hit” on her, went to hug her and grabbed her breasts without her consent, court papers said.

Leymeister denied the physical altercation and said that she wanted him out of her house, arrest papers said.
