Several people were seriously injured Saturday afternoon when involved in a crash in Washington Township. The accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. along Route 873 about a half mile north of Slatington.

Numerous medic units were called to the scene including two from Carbon County.

Route 873 was closed to traffic during the incident.
