The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission will not be closing the Northeast Extension in Carbon County Sunday evening into Monday as initially announced.

Weather is delaying the removal of the Hatchery Road bridge that goes over the turnpike at milepost A83.88 in Penn Forest Township, Carbon County.

When the road closes, the entry and exit ramps at Hickory Run Service Plaza will be closed to all traffic.

Hatchery Road has been closed to traffic in the area, forcing residents to take a 26-mile detour to get to Route 903.
