Man charged with shooting BB gun at truck on I-80

An Ohio man has been charged with shooting his BB gun at another vehicle during an incident in Kidder Township.

According to the affidavit of probable cause filed by Trooper Samuel Falcone of the Pennsylvania State Police, Fern Ridge barracks in the case against Kennith Morgan:

At 12:50 p.m. March 6, a man contacted the barracks to report someone shooting or throwing something at his car window on Interstate 80 West.

The man said he was traveling west on I-80 west at approximate mile marker 182 in the right lane, operating a truck and semitrailer.

He said another truck drove on the side of him with its window open. At this time, he heard three loud noises on hid driver side window.

The victim stated the third loud noise caused his driver side window to shatter, and he believed the other involved party either shot at him or threw something at him.

The other operator of the suspect vehicle was identified as Morgan, 29, of Middletown, who was operating a truck and semitrailer during the incident.

Falcone interviewed Morgan, who said the victim cut him off, putting his life in danger but denied throwing anything at the other vehicle.

Morgan admitted having a BB gun inside his truck’s cabin. At the barracks, Morgan admitted using his BB gun to shoot at the other vehicle because he cut him off twice, putting his life in danger. Morgan said his intent was to break the other vehicle’s window to teach him a lesson.

Morgan faces charges of aggravated assault, simple assault, and propel missile into occupied vehicle.

Morgan is currently incarcerated in the Carbon County Correctional Facility in lieu of $250,000 monetary bail.

Charges were held in a preliminary hearing Wednesday before District Judge Joseph D. Homanko Sr. of Weatherly.
