The Rev. James J. Morgan, professor at Marian High School and curate at St. Joseph’s Church, Summit Hill, has been promoted to the position of assistant financial secretary of the Diocese of Allentown, according to an announcement made by the Most Rev. Joseph McShea, Bishop of Allentown.

Father Morgan will establish residence at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Bethlehem.

He served St. Mary’s in Coaldale and St. Ann’s in Lansford during his work in the Panther Valley area and was particularly noted for his interest in youths in the area.

He will be succeeded at Marian by the Rev. William A. Reinsmith, who is presently the pastor at Immaculate Conception Church, Jim Thorpe.
