One person died and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday at 3:19 p.m. on the Pleasant Valley Highway in Pine Grove Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said Tyler L. Carl, 27, of Pine Grove, was life-flighted to the Geisinger-St. Luke’s Hospital, Orwigsburg, where he was later pronounced dead.

They said Kathleen M. Roshannon, 54, of Minersville, was life-flighted to the Hershey Medical Center and Janet J. Jones, 87, of Pine Grove, was life-flighted to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where they both are being treated for serious injuries.

Police said the crash occurred when Carl, driving a 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer east at a high rate of speed, left his lane of travel and the vehicle crashed into a westbound 2019 Ford operated by Roshannon and transporting Jones as a passenger.

Police said both vehicles needed to be towed from the scene while a Troop L Forensic Unit and the Ravine Fire Department and EMS unit assisted at the scene.
