More than 200 people helped the Bowmanstown Fire Company celebrate its 50th anniversary last night in festive style.

The celebration was marked by the arrival of a new FMC pumper-tanker vehicle, the presentation of checks totaling $8,500 to the department and a party open to the community.

The new truck arrived about 45 minutes before the festivities. It is a “Roughneck Tanker” with a 450-gallon-per-minute pump and a 1,500-gallon tank.

Edith Lentz, auxiliary president, presented two checks totaling the above amount to the company officers.
