Town: Albrightsville
Work location: LVH-Carbon
Job Title: Registered Nurse
Department you work in: Oncology Infusion
About your job: I am an oncology infusion nurse. I administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy. I also administer non oncology medications like hydration and iron. I love caring for and educating patients on disease process and symptom management during therapy to ensure they continue and see it through. I love my job because I love my patients. They are so kind and strong, even in their weakest moments.
How long have you worked there: 2 years and counting!
Challenges/proud moments of your job: My proudest moments are when patients can complete treatment and ring the bell. I had one particular young woman who had a very difficult time with chemotherapy side effects, and she overcame it all! She is now living life to the fullest and can care for her children once again.
Background, Education: I received my associate degree for nursing from Montgomery County Community College in 2010 and my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Gwynedd Mercy College in 2014. I have been a nurse for 12 years and counting.
Family information: I am married for 8 years and counting and have been with my husband since I was 17 years old and he 18 years old. We have two beautiful children: Brendan, 7 years old, and Abigail 6 months old.
Why you like working for LVHN: I love working for LVHN because they implement a work-life balance. My colleagues and my director are simply the best.
