Summit Hill man charged with altering payroll checks

A Summit Hill man faces multiple charges after altering payroll and one blank check from his former employer.

Sisqo Wuandi Rodriguez, 23, of West Ludlow Street, was charged with five felony counts of forgery, four counts of theft by unlawful taking and four counts of receiving stolen property by Summit Hill police.

District Judge Beth Dodson arraigned Rodriguez on the charges Thursday afternoon and he was released on $10,000 unsecured bail.

According to court papers, Rodriguez attempted to cash a check for $1,800.89 from Pereira 5 gas station in Summit Hill at Community Bank in Lansford.

The bank, believing the check was forged, refused to cash it, and contacted the manager, who notified police about this check and four other altered payroll checks from December, court papers said.

The altered payroll checks totaled $3,700, and were deposited into Rodriguez’s account via his mobile device, court papers said. The actual payroll checks, which were from December, totaled less than $450, court papers said.

Summit Hill police interviewed Rodriguez at their station and he admitted to the thefts, court papers said.
