The top dog in all of dogworld was paraded in front of 10,000 cheering dog-lovers and a national television audience at New York’s famous Madison Square Garden on Tuesday evening by a Lehighton man.

Mark E. Threlfall of Stagecoach Road, Lehighton, marched a liver-and-white English Springer Spaniel that answers to the name of “Robert” to the best in-show award in the closing session of the Westminster Kennel Club’s dog show at the garden.

Threlfall and his wife, Bonnie, are “Robert’s” trainers. The dog is owned by Julia Gasow of Troy, Michigan, and Dr. Robert and Donna Herzig of Louisville, Kentucky.
