Palmerton Borough Council on Thursday agreed to accept the pro rata share of the agreement for the appraisal cost of a zinc reclaiming company property.

After about a 90-minute executive session, council on a 6-0 vote approved the measure with regard to the Befesa Zinc US Inc., property.

Located at 900 Delaware Ave., Befesa Zinc is the current owner and operating company in Palmerton.

The site had previously been the location of American Zinc Recycling Corp.

Before that, it had been known as Horsehead Corp.

Councilman Richard Nothstein was absent.
