Northampton Community College is offering a new Trauma Informed Care certificate program that will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to understand the effects of trauma on individuals and support survivors in a professional capacity. This program is ideal for educators, health care and human service providers, first responders, social workers, and day care staff.
The program consists of five self-paced virtual modules that cover a range of topics including Trauma and Its Impacts, The Behavioral Neuroscience of Trauma, The Psychology of Stress Management, Building Resilience in Trauma Survivors, and Supporting Mental Wellness with Trauma-Informed Care Systems.
Interested people are invited to attend a free virtual information session from 6 to 7 p.m. Monday.
