Woman facing DUI in Schuylkill

State police at the Frackville barracks were summoned to a report of a woman armed with firearms intending to pick up her daughter from school in the Pottsville area on Dec. 20.

They said as a result of the potential threat, troopers began a search for the subject and located her at the intersection of Route 54 in Locustdale, at which time she displayed signs of being under the influence of methamphetamines.

Police said she was charged and processed for driving under the influence of a controlled substance and was then taken to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Pottsville, for a mental health evaluation.

Police said she was not found to be in possession of any firearms during their contact with her.
