Storm watch upgraded to 6-10 inches of snow

A winter storm watch in effect from Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon has been upgraded by the National Weather Service.

Heavy snow is possible, with total snow accumulations of 6 to 10 inches possible, the National Weather Service said Friday morning.

Here is the latest forecast:

Today: Sunny, with a high near 35. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tonight: Increasing clouds, with a low around 23. West wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.

Saturday: Snow, mainly after 1 p.m. The snow could be heavy at times. High near 35. Light east wind increasing to 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Saturday Night: Snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 28. Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.

Sunday: Snow likely, mainly before 1 p.m. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 27.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 40.

Monday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21.

Tuesday: A chance of rain or freezing rain before 1 p.m., then rain. High near 43. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Tuesday Night: Rain. The rain could be heavy at times. Low around 39. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 100%.

Wednesday: A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 50. Breezy. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 30. Breezy.

Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 42.
