• George L. Hettler, 68, of Bloomsburg, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 5:08 p.m. Dec. 13 on Mountain Road in North Union Township.

Police said he was treated at the scene by personnel from the Sugarloaf Fire Company and “life-flighted” by helicopter to the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Police said he was driving a 2007 Ford F-150 northbound when he failed to negotiate a right-hand turn. The truck struck the end of a guide rail, became airborne and landed in a field where it overturned and rolled over several times before coming to rest about 80 feet down an embankment.

Police said Hettler was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

• Samuel S. Degiglio, 54, of Summit Hill, was cited by police after a two-vehicle crash at 4:16 p.m. Dec. 13 at the intersection of Claremont Avenue (Route 309) and Oxford Street in Rush Township (Hometown). No one was injured in the incident.

Police said he was driving a 2016 Jeep Compass south on Route 309, preparing to turn east onto Oxford Street, when he proceeded without having proper clearance and the Compass was struck by a 2017 Mitsubishi Mirage driven northbound by Brandon C. Kesen, 35, of Lansford.

• A 29-year-old Barnesville woman was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-East, Pottsville, for a mental health evaluation after she admitted to police she intentionally wrecked her 2015 Ford Explorer in a crash at 2:31 a.m. Nov. 12 at the intersection of the Brandonville Road and Hills Terrace roads in Mahanoy Township.

Police said they were called to the location for a single-vehicle crash. The woman showed signs of impairment. Police said she will be charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, and she admitted to intentionally wrecking the Explorer in an attempt to harm herself.

Police said while she was being transported to the hospital she escaped handcuffs and had to be restrained multiple times.

• Ruth J. Donald, 72, of Beaver Meadows, was cited after a crash at 6:45 p.m. Dec. 14 at the intersection of Route 309 (Claremont Avenue) and Lincoln Drive in Hometown, Rush Township. No one was injured in the incident.

Police said she was driving a 2013 Toyota Highlander that entered the roadway without clearance and was struck by a 20111 Suzuki SX4 driven by Karen M. Butcher, 59, of Coaldale, who was southbound on Route 309 at the time.

Police said both vehicles were towed from the scene.
