Lansford Borough Council conducted the following business:
• Tabled approving a contract with new Police Chief Kyle Woodward, as they continued working out items in the agreement. Council met in executive session before and after the special meeting to hammer out terms, which will be forwarded to the borough’s labor attorney for review before approval.
• Tabled hiring a part-time borough secretary, and agreed to re-advertise the position.
• Discussed prices to have Diversified Technologies handling billing for sewer transmission fees and trash collection. Council decided to retain billing in-house.
• Disapproved changes to handicapped ramp design for Ashton Park. The change involved flaring out the ends of the ramps at an additional cost of $3,000. Council decided to keep the ramps, which are five-feet wide, straight.
• Approved meeting with ARRO Consulting regarding potential costs of complaints regarding the rentals in the borough. ARRO will be handling rental applications and inspections, but the borough did not discuss how complaints and costs associated would be handled, Council President Bruce Markovich said.
