December 29, 2003 - Marian’s Jill Homyak and Angela Rutch are named the Times News Volleyball Co-Players of the Year after the two seniors help lead the Fillies to Schuylkill League, District 11 and PIAA State championships. Rutch finishes the season with 253 kills, a team-high 216 digs and 46 aces, while Homyak ends the year with 198 kills, 205 digs and 75 aces. “They are so deserving,” says head coach John “Doc” Fallabel. “Not only because of how great they performed on the court, but for the leadership they displayed off the court.” Homyak leaves the program as the school’s career leader in aces (205), while Rutch ends third overall in kills (473).
