Man faces charges after pointing a gun in bar

A Lansford man faces multiple charges after pointing a gun at a patron in a bar late Saturday night, court papers said.

Marhoskie Marce Hazzard, 48, of Jones Street, was arraigned Wednesday morning by District Judge Casimir Kosciolek and sent to the Carbon County prison in Nesquehoning in lieu of $75,000 bail.

Charges include reckless endangerment, firearms not to be carried without a license, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, harassment, public drunkenness and simple assault.

According to court papers, state police received a report at 11:20 p.m. about an intoxicated man causing a disturbance, wanting to fight with people, and pointing a gun at patrons of The 80s Bar on East Patterson Street.

The man left before troopers arrived at 11:49 p.m., and the owner told them that a man he’d never seen before was drinking at the bar, became intoxicated and confronted a patron, court papers said.

The man, later identified as Hazzard through credit card information and driver’s license photo, had a loaded revolver, holding it in the air, setting it on his lap, placing it on the bar and pointing it directly at a patron, court papers said.

The owner, along with employees, disarmed Hazzard and secured the weapon, and took him outside to diffuse the situation, court papers said. Hazzard, who again began having words with a patron, was picked up by an unknown woman who arrived at the bar, court papers said.
