Lehighton earned wins over Pen Argyl Friday in both boys and girls basketball action.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Lehighton-Pen Argyl

Lehighton hit 11 three-pointers en route to a 60-36 non-league victory over Pen Argyl.

Cole Dietz accounted for six of the treys and finished with a game-high 22 points.

The Indians converted from long range seven times in the opening half to build a 14-point lead at the intermission.

Blake Roberts contributed 16 points to the winning effort, while Joe Roth added 10. The Knights received a team-high 12 points from Jack McLaughlin.

Lehighton improved to 6-3, including a 5-0 mark against Colonial League schools. Pen Argyl dropped to 0-9.

Moravian Academy

Pleasant Valley ended a seven-game losing streak by earning a 61-38 non-league victory over Moravian Academy.

The Bears moved to 2-7 with the win, while the Lions dropped to 3-6.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Pen Argyl-Lehighton

Charli McHugh scored a game-high 20 points to lead Lehighton to a 43-37 win over Pen Argyl in non-league action.

McHugh was also 12-for-12 from the free throw line - including six-for-six in the fourth quarter for the Tribe. Emma Repsher finished with 14 points for the winners, who led 17-5 after the first period.

Macy Kotulka hit four three-pointers and led the Green Knights with 12 points. Julia Vargo had 10 points.

The win lifts Lehighton to 5-4, while Pen Argyl slips to 4-4.

Ella Huda led the Crimson Tide with 12 points.

Millie Black had 11 points and Naomi Knitter added seven for the Blue Raiders.

7TH GRADE

Pottsville rolled to a 39-8 victory over Tamaqua.

Takiera Curry had 10 points to lead the Crimson Tide.

Madeline Trigone’s four points paced the Blue Raiders.
