Carbon County Friends of Animals is regularly seeking the items for the cat shelter:
Cleaning items: Fabuloso, Lysol cleaner, Lysol spray & Lysol wipes, hand sanitizer, bleach, dish soap, hand soap, top performing disinfectant.
Paper and bedding items: paper towels, toilet paper, pillowcases, towels and small blankets.
Cat items: Purina Cat & Kitten Chow, nail clippers, wet food (Friskies preferred) Cat litter (scoopable and non-scoopable), cat towers, toys, wands, etc.
Maintenance items: mop, dust pans (stand up ones), brooms, black and white trash bags.
Stationary items: index cards (any color), printing paper, pens, highlighters.
Medical items: gloves (powder free/non-latex) any sizes, thermometer, heating pad, cotton swabs.
Also: fundraising ideas, monetary donations, volunteers.
Please drop off all donations at the shelter facility between 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Dietrich-Luhman American Legion Post 360 and Ladies Auxiliary are in need of a new upright freezer.
The Ladies Auxiliary runs the food share ad turkey dinners for veterans. The pizza sales benefit veterans and many other fundraisers to support the community. The goal is to replace three of the freezers and a refrigerator freezer with one large freezer. This would help with the electrical bill and storing capacity.

MapleShade Meadows is seeking Christmas cards for its 75 residents.
Along with cards, the center is always grateful to receive any donations, such as socks, personal hygiene products, slippers, briefs, pajamas, puzzles, word search books, etc.

Citizens Fire Company #1 of Weatherly is looking for assistance in replacing a 40-plus-year-old emergency generator. The present generator is not functioning properly and is requiring constant maintenance. A generator is needed to ensure power is kept on for the emergency vehicles (fire apparatus), also if the fire station is needed for use as an emergency shelter. The fire company is in need of a larger generator that is able to handle the entire building.

Help Monroe County Meals on Wheels provide gifts to our homebound clients this holiday season.
The organization is accepting donations of new unwrapped items.
Needed items are battery operated toothbrushes, flashlight/night light, slipper socks with grippers, suncatchers, cups with lids, magnifiers, lotion/body wash, robes (one size fits all), neck pillows, adult coloring books with markers, hats/gloves/scarves for men, puzzles (large size pieces), and gift cards for Dollar General, Dollar Tree, etc.
Item can be dropped off at the office, 901 Polk Valley Road, Stroudsburg, 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Contact Stacy Koeck at 570-242-1670.
