Lehigh Carbon Community College is offering three summer fun classes for kids at the main campus in Schnecksville in August. Classes are designed for students in rising grades 6 through 11.
• An Intro to Film and TV: Acting and Behind the Scenes class will run Aug. 5-9, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students will work as cast and crew teams. Basic levels of acting, direction, voice-over, operating the camera and working on green screen will be covered. This program is hands-on, and students will create commercials, film scenes, music videos and public service announcements.
• Acting for the Camera will run Aug. 12-16, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. Students will learn real auditioning skills by working with scripts for commercials and film readings. Participants will learn to improvise and ad-lib. Students will increase memory, reading skills and confidence.
• Equine Management, which will be held at an off-campus location, will run Aug. 19-23, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Students will learn barn management, stable care, nutrition/feed, first aid and basic horse grooming.
There is a cost for each course.
Students must bring their own lunch for any of the classes.
