Mahoning Township Police have a charged a man from two drug incidents that happened on the same day in August.

On Aug. 15, Mahoning Township Police were dispatched to Walmart shortly after 7 a.m. for a female crying inside a vehicle.She told dispatchers she did not know how she got to the store. The woman reported she fell asleep in the car at 3 a.m., and awoke in the parking lot of Walmart.She was unable to locate John Steskal, the driver of the car.Steskal was located inside the store near the cash register. He told police he hadn't slept and had been up for a couple days.He was found in possession of a glass pipe commonly used to smoke methamphetamine.He has been charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.Later that evening, Mahoning Township Police received a report a possible retail theft at Walmart.They reported Steskal was inside the store. He concealed merchandise, and entered the bathroom. A short time later he left the bathroom and placed the merchandise back onto a shelf without having taken any of it. Steskal was described by Loss Prevention as not acting normal. Police observed him driving away from the store in a careless manner.He was stopped and arrested for DUI of drugs. Officers found a plastic bag in his pants pocket that contained methamphetamine. A blood test showed the presence of amphetamine, and methamphetamine in his system.A preliminary hearing is scheduled for both incidents on Jan. 14, 2015.
