Crystal Spring Tree Farm, a Carbon County Christmas tree grower, will be featured this evening on HGTV's "White House Christmas 2014."
The Mahoning Township farm was selected again this year to provide the official White House Christmas tree.The show will air at 8 o'clock this evening, and again at 3 a.m. Tuesday on HGTV. It originally aired Sunday evening, and was watched by the Botek family, owners of Crystal Spring Tree Farm."We saw it last night and it was really beautiful," said Margaret Botek, whose son Chris, operates the farm.She said one segment showed the difficulty workers had in getting the tree through the door.The 19.5-foot-tall concolor fir is the largest tree to be selected.First lady Michelle Obama, who greeted the Boteks last month with daughters Malia and Sasha when the tree was delivered to the White House, even commented on its size, saying she hoped it would fit through the door.
