A Lehighton man was struck by a car this morning while crossing Bankway Street (Route 209).

Joe Pizutti, of North First Street, was struck at 6:30 a.m. at the "Y" in the road where Bankway and Sgt. Stanley Hoffman Boulevard intersect.

The victim was treated at the scene by Lehighton paramedics and flown to Lehigh Valley-Cedar Crest.

Lehighton Police said no charges will be filed against the driver of the car, Dylan Smith, 24, of Lehighton.

Route 209 remained open during the investigation.
