A Levittown woman was killed as the result of a crash Friday afternoon on the Pennsylvania Turnpike; while a second vehicle is being sought.
Andrew Kehm, chief deputy coroner in Lehigh County, identified the woman as Maria C. Gervasio, 23.Kehm said that Rebecca Saborsky, deputy coroner, pronounced Gervasio dead at 4:44 p.m. An autopsy is scheduled for Saturday in order to determine the cause of death.The fatal crash occurred just before 4 p.m. at the 60.2 mile marker in the northbound lanes in South Whitehall Township, Lehigh County. Both northbound lanes were shut down between the Lehigh and Mahoning Valley exits following the crash. Traffic was detoured onto U.S. Route 22.According to various reports, the vehicle flipped over during the incident. A silver Ford Focus, which police believe was involved in the crash, left the scene.The Lehigh County coroner's office and Pennsylvania State Police are investigatin.
