State police are investigating the death of a man discovered along the Rails To Trails hiking path about a mile south of Slatington.

The body was found just before 1 p.m. Emergency personnel accessed the area by a gate at the intersection of Walnut Street and Shady Nook Lane.

Numerous state troopers are at the scene along with a forensic unit.

The Lehigh County Coroner has been called to the scene.
