PITTSBURGH (AP) — Emergency crews have been dealing with downed trees and power lines and the threat of flooding in some areas of western Pennsylvania following strong thunderstorms.

One of the hardest hit areas Tuesday night was Cranberry Township, Butler County, about 20 miles north of Pittsburgh. That's where Route 228 remained closed between Route 19 and Interstate 79 during Wednesday morning's rush hour due to eight to 10 downed utility poles.There were widespread reports of downed trees and branches across western Pennsylvania. The National Weather Service has also issued flood warnings and watches for most western counties through much of the morning.Farther north, there were reports of flooding in Crawford and Venango counties. In Erie, a tent collapsed during a church service at a park Tuesday evening, but none of the 200 people inside were hurt.
