Parents of seniors are asked to attend and lend a hand.To pray rosaryThe Third Annual Public Square Rosary will be held on Saturday, Oct. 10, at noon at Kennedy Park in Lansford. Other rallies will be held at the War Memorial on Third Street in Coaldale; in front of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church, Lansford; in Ludlow Park, Summit Hill; and in front of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Nesquehoning.Participants are asked to bring their lawn chairs.Methodist ChargeThe annual Charge Conference of the Coaldale/Summit Hill United Methodist Church will meet on Saturday, Oct. 3, in the Coaldale church.The PPR Committee will meet with the district superintendant at 11 a.m., and the full conference will meet at 11:30 a.m. This is a very important conference meeting and all members of both churches are urged to attend.LansfordBlessing of animalsA blessing service for animals will take place on Sunday, Oct. 4, in front of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford. The service will begin at noon, followed by the individual blessing of each animal.Hospitality plansA workshop on "parish hospitality" will be held on Thursday, Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. in the social hall of St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, Lansford.Sponsored by the Allentown Diocese Office for Social Action, the session is open to anyone who wants to share and discuss ideas and practices to help parishes reach out to "newcomers" and to those affected by the restructuring of parishes.To reserve a seat, call the office at (610) 289-8900 before Oct. 20.Summit HillShade Tree plansThe Summit Hill Shade Tree Commission will be conducting the fall planting on the streets of the borough on the last weekend in October. This is the 10th year the commission has been restoring and maintaining the trees in the community.Orders for new trees will be placed in mid-October.
