Laureen E. DiMattia of Lehighton graduated in May from the Pennsylvania State University, University Park.

She is the daughter of Mary Ann DiMattia and Peter DiMattia.Laureen received a bachelor of arts in psychology and a minor in sociology. She was honored at a separate celebration the morning of graduation for attaining Highest Distinction (top 2 percent) of her class. She received a medal for her achievements. She was also on the dean's list all eight semesters at PSU.Laureen will continue her education toward a master's of social work at Marywood University.She is the granddaughter of Peter Kupec and the late Bernadine Kupec of Lansford, and Barbara DiMattia and the late Peter DiMattia of Summit Hill.
