Dimmick Memorial Library, 54 Broadway, Jim Thorpe has announced the following events will be taking place in September.
The library will be closed Sept. 2 in observance of Labor Day and will reopen at 9 a.m. on Sept. 3.
• Story time will be held every Tuesday from 10-11 a.m. in the library. The themes will be Sept. 3, Names; Sept. 10, Clocks/Telling Time; Sept. 17, Feelings and Emotions and Sept. 24, Imagination.
• Astrologer Amy D. from Divine Soulscapes is back with a look into what the stars have planned with her presentation on Karmic Nodes at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 4.
• Local Artist Showcase reception is 5:30-7 p.m. on Sept. 5. Meet the artist for the next two months.
• Board of directors meeting is at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 10 in borough hall in Jim Thorpe.
• The Dimmick Lego Club will meet from 4-5:30 p.m. on Sept. 11 and 25.
• The Dimmick Book Club will meet at 7 p.m. on Sept. 11 in the library.
• The Coaltown Crafters will be meeting at 7 p.m. on Sept. 12 at 119 West Broadway. All crafters welcome.
• The library is hosting an Antique and Collectible Book Sale from Sept. 19-21. The sale is held during regular library hours. The library will remain open late from 5-7 p.m. on Sept. 20 for the sale. There will be no library services during the extended Friday hours.
• The Dimmick Lab Rats: STEM Saturday event will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sept. 21. Stop in, explore and learn in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Each month the library will do a themed project aimed to teach you more about the science of the world around us.
• The library will be hosting a book signing with local artist Ed Benjamin from noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 28.
• Stop in any time throughout the month of September to view the art of Jessica Crowley. A portion of the proceeds of the show benefit the library directly.
