Two pedestrians who were struck by a vehicle on Sunday at 1:15 a.m. in the 300 block of West Hamilton Street in Allentown died in the emergency department of the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, Salisbury Township.

Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said the victims have been identified and their families have been notified, but, he said, he is not releasing the names of the victims at this time so as to “allow the families to mourn and grieve privately.”

Buglio said he does not anticipate releasing additional information today about the incident. He said autopsies will be scheduled and completed by his office and the coroner’s forensic center.

City police and the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident.
