State police at Bethlehem

State police at the Bethlehem barracks reported the following:

• Police were called to a criminal mischief incident at 3:17 p.m. Nov. 12 along Spring Valley Road, Washington Township.

A 73-year-old man from Freedom, New York, told police someone smashed the windshield on his 2011 Chevrolet Silverado that was parked along the main road to the property.

• The Lehigh Career and Technical Institute, Schnecksville, is the victim of a theft by deception incident reported at 4:09 p.m. Nov. 7.

They said someone attempted to defraud students of the school by selling tickets while trying to falsely present himself as a representative of the school.

• Police were summoned to investigate burglary that was reported at 1:11 p.m. Nov. 3 at St. John’s United Church of Christ, Rising Sun Road, North Whitehall Township (Laurys Station).

They said the break-in occurred between 9 a.m. Oct. 24 and 9:45 a.m. Nov. 2 when someone gained enter to the basement office area of the church where the church’s donation mailbox is located. They said a church representative noticed pry marks near the door latch frame of the donation box, but determined nothing was stolen in the attempt. Damages to the box and latch frame are estimated at $50, police said.

• A 58-year-old Schnecksville man reported someone used his information to open a bank account. Police were called at Sept. 6 to a residence on Coplay Creek Road in North Whitehall Township.

• A 66-year-old Slatedale man is the victim of a disorderly conduct incident they were called to a property on Main Street in Washington Township at 3:53 p.m. Aug. 14. Police said someone threw grass into the victim’s pond.

• Two people were charged after a traffic stop police made at 10:30 p.m. Sept. 16 on Mauch Chunk Road in North Whitehall Township.

Charged were a 28-year-old woman from Slatedale and a 33-year-old man from Allentown. Police said the driver of a 2010 Honda Civic they stopped was charged with driving under the influence of a controlled substance and a passenger in the car was charged with possession of a controlled substance.
