The Horsehead Corporation made good on its pledge to continue funding the Horsehead Community Development Fund by presenting a check for $120,000 to the fund officials to be used in the upcoming year.

James Wimmer, fund chairman, accepted the check from company chief executive officer Jim Hensler.

For the past 15 years, HCDF has been funding various projects in and around Palmerton that improve the community and promote social welfare, projects that maintain and restore public facilities, projects that assist the aged and infirm, and projects that provide enhances educational opportunities to community members.
