Chief of Police Thomas L. Mase of Jim Thorpe came in for plaudits from Mayor Michael Hichok and council President Francis Marzen recently.

Hichok credited Mase with “doing a good job” as he presented a detailed monthly report of police department activity during the past month, especially as it applied to safety measures for children.

Marzen said he was also pleased with the report, praising the chief for his leadership in bringing in “dollar signs” at the end of the month, referring to deposits of $1,599.98 in parking meter collections, prohibited parking tickets, police report fees, moving permits and municipal parking lot rental fees.
